Release 1.0, July 1 2004
RegRNA, is a novel database for storing the regulatory RNA motifs and elements from literatures and several biological databases. The RNA regulatory elements, represented as consensus pattern or RNA structural motifs, in the database are categorized into several classes as follows:
  • Motifs in mRNA 5' UTR and 3'UTR
  • Motifs involved in mRNA splicing
  • Motifs involved in transcriptional regulation
  • Other motifs in mRNA, such as riboswitches.
  • Prediction of the splice sites, such as the donor sites and the acceptor sites.
  • RNA structural features, such as inverted repeats, and tandem repeats.
Furthermore, the database provides searching functions for the instances of the RNA regulatory features against the input pre-mRNA or mature mRNA sequences.
